All international visitors (excluding Indian nationals) require a visa prior to boarding flights to Paro. Visas are processed exclusively by licensed tour operators like HKE upon itinerary confirmation.

Only two airlines operate into Paro International Airport: state carrier Drukair and private Bhutan Airlines. Gateway hubs include Bangkok (BKK), Singapore (SIN), Kathmandu (KTM), and Delhi (DEL).

Bhutan’s elevation ranges from 200m in the southern foothills to over 7,500m in the high Himalayas. Valleys like Punakha remain subtropical while mountain passes require warm fleece and down jackets.

Dzongs and monastery temples are living spiritual sanctuaries. Shoulders and legs must be fully covered (collared shirts and long trousers or skirts are required; no shorts or sleeveless tops).

Paro and Thimphu sit between 2,200m and 2,400m, while passes like Chele La and Dochula exceed 3,100m–3,980m. We design gentle pacing with ample hydration stops.

The Bhutanese Ngultrum (BTN) is pegged 1:1 to the Indian Rupee (INR). Indian Rupee notes (₹100 and ₹500 denominations) are widely accepted everywhere.
