Pema Gatshel Dzong (Densa Dzong)
Pema Gatshel Dzong, located at Denchi, is the administrative and monastic hub of the district. Designed to replace the older, smaller administrative structures, the dzong combines modern architectural planning with traditional Bhutanese woodwork and stone craftsmanship. It sits on a scenic slope, offering panoramic views of the surrounding pine forests and rolling ridges.
The dzong serves as the primary location for regional government functions and religious assemblies. It plays a central role during the annual Pema Gatshel Tshechu, where local monks and lay practitioners perform sacred mask dances alongside unique regional folk songs like the Kengpa dance.
